Cadence determines how many articles get scheduled per month and how often Ranket publishes them. Pick once during setup; change anytime in brand settings.
The four options
| Cadence | Days per week | Articles/month | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily | 7 | ~30 | Aggressive growth, well-established brands, paid plans |
| MWF | 3 (Mon/Wed/Fri) | ~12 | Steady pace without overwhelming readers / CMS |
| Tue+Thu | 2 | ~8 | Conservative — high quality, fewer articles |
| Weekly | 1 (Monday) | ~4 | Side project / niche site / starting out |
All cadences ship at 09:00 UTC on the scheduled day.
Match cadence to the keyword pool
Each refresh surfaces ~15-25 new keywords. The math:
- Daily burns through the pool fast — 30/mo vs. ~20 new/mo means after the first month you’ll be re-mining variations or relaxing filters
- MWF / Tue+Thu comfortably match the discovery rate — no pressure on the pool
- Weekly accumulates a backlog of “available” keywords you can manually elevate
Most growing brands run MWF for the first 2 months, then upgrade to daily once the pool depth is proven and the brand voice has settled.
What “skipping a day” means
If a scheduled day arrives and:
- The pool is empty (no
availablekeywords) → that day is skipped, an alert is logged, and the next refresh will recover - The planned article failed during generation → the calendar entry stays
failed, you can retry it manually - Your CMS webhook returns 4xx/5xx → the article still generates and is marked
ready; delivery retries on the next cron
Skipping is rare in normal operation. If it happens 2+ days in a row, the dashboard flags it as a “stalled brand” so you can investigate.
Changing cadence
Switching from daily to weekly:
- Future calendar entries are pruned to match the new cadence
- Already-planned but not-yet-generated entries are kept (they don’t waste your plan budget)
- The next calendar fill (after a research refresh) uses the new cadence
Switching from weekly to daily:
- The calendar refills on the next research refresh
- Plan jobs fan out for the newly-scheduled days
- Generation costs scale with article count
Cost per cadence
Steady-state monthly COGS, based on current pricing:
| Cadence | Articles | Generation cost | Research cost | Total/mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daily | 30 | $19-24 | $2 | ~$25 |
| MWF | 12 | $8-10 | $2 | ~$10 |
| Tue+Thu | 8 | $5-7 | $2 | ~$8 |
| Weekly | 4 | $3-4 | $2 | ~$5 |
This is what Ranket itself pays in vendor costs to deliver your articles. Plan pricing covers this with margin for product development.
Review vs. autopilot
Independent of cadence, you can set the brand to:
- Autopilot (default) — generated articles ship directly to your CMS at the scheduled time
- Review — articles are generated but held in a queue for you to approve before delivery
Review mode lets you skim each article in the dashboard and either approve, edit, or reject. Approved articles are delivered immediately; rejected ones are marked dismissed and the keyword goes back to available for a future re-attempt with a different angle.
