1. The deal
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Ranket, an AI SEO automation platform operated by the entity behind ranket.app (“Ranket”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using Ranket on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Account and access
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including the actions of teammates you invite.
- Keep your credentials secret. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including immediately for serious violations (fraud, abuse, security attacks).
3. Subscription and billing
- Ranket is sold on a monthly or annual subscription. Current pricing is on the pricing page.
- We bill in advance for the chosen plan. Annual plans receive the posted discount; monthly plans renew at the start of each billing cycle.
- Free trials last 7 days. We do not charge during the trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the plan renews automatically and charges at the posted rate.
- You can cancel anytime from the billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Annual plans pro-rate refunds for unused full months, minus the 20% annual discount already applied.
- Failed payments suspend the account after one retry. We'll email before any action is taken. Suspended accounts can be reactivated by updating the payment method.
- Prices may change. We'll notify you at least 30 days in advance. Increases take effect at your next renewal.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Ranket to:
- Generate content that's illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, or designed to deceive search engines about who's publishing it (e.g. impersonating another brand).
- Spam — bulk-publishing low-quality content to networks you don't own, automating link schemes outside our backlink exchange, or any activity Google would classify as black-hat.
- Generate content that violates intellectual property rights — don't ask the system to plagiarise specific copyrighted works.
- Use the service to harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person or group.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, resell, or build a competing service on top of Ranket outputs without explicit written permission.
- Attempt to compromise the security of the service or its users — including probing, scanning, or testing for vulnerabilities without authorisation.
We monitor for these patterns and reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation.
5. Your content and our license
You own the content we generate for you. Articles, images, briefs, and keyword research belong to you (subject to the rights of any third-party sources we cite or any underlying AI model provider's terms).
To operate the service, you grant Ranket a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, copy, modify, and distribute your content for the limited purpose of providing and improving the service to you. This license terminates when you delete the content or close your account, except for backups (retained up to 30 days) and any content we're legally required to keep.
We do not train AI models on your content. We do not share your content with other customers, except in the explicit and opt-in context of the backlink exchange (see section 7).
6. AI-generated content
Ranket uses large language models (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) and image generation models (Fal) to produce articles, images, and recommendations. AI output can be inaccurate, biased, or out of date. Specifically:
- We cite facts extracted from publicly-available competitor pages. We do our best to flag uncertainty, but you should fact-check specifics (numbers, dates, statistics, named individuals) before publishing.
- Generated articles are published as-is by default. If you want a review gate before publication, enable approval mode in your brand settings. Otherwise, the autopilot ships to your CMS without human review.
- You are responsible for the legal, regulatory, and editorial compliance of anything that gets published to your website.
- We do not warrant that generated content is original, factually correct, or fit for any specific purpose. You assume the risk of publishing it.
7. Backlink exchange
Ranket includes a contextual backlink exchange network where eligible brands trade relevant links inside generated articles. Specific terms:
- Participation is automatic but you can opt out at any time from your brand settings.
- Brands must have at least 5 published articles and 30 days of history to receive incoming exchange links. This prevents fresh domains from being used as link farms.
- Placements are limited (max 2 inserted links per article, anchor variants enforced, randomised skips applied). The matcher prefers semantically-relevant placements and rejects irrelevant ones.
- We verify placements weekly. Links that get removed, marked nofollow, or 404 are flagged and the matched offer is paused for review.
- You are responsible for ensuring your participation complies with any contractual agreements you have with third parties (e.g. publishers, advertisers).
8. Refunds
- Free trial: cancel before the 7 days end and you owe nothing.
- Monthly plans: not refunded mid-cycle. Cancel to stop the next charge.
- Annual plans: pro-rate refunds for unused full months, minus the 20% annual discount previously applied.
- Service incidents: if we materially fail to deliver (e.g. extended downtime exceeding what's covered by section 9), contact us and we'll work out a credit or refund in good faith.
9. Service availability
We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced in advance. Unplanned incidents are communicated via the status page and email. Volume-sensitive operations (article generation, keyword research) run as queued jobs — temporary slowdowns or retries are normal and not considered an outage.
10. Intellectual property
The Ranket service — the website, app, code, brand, documentation, and trademarks — is owned by us. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the service beyond what's necessary to use it as a customer.
Feedback you send us about the product can be used by us freely (you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable license to incorporate feedback into the service without obligation).
11. Termination
- You can close your account anytime. We delete account data within 30 days, subject to legal retention.
- We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms (especially section 4 Acceptable Use), if your payment fails and is not corrected, or if continued service would expose us to legal risk.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, indemnification, limitation of liability, governing law) survive.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the service will rank your articles, increase your traffic, generate leads, or produce any specific commercial outcome.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the service is capped at the amount you paid Ranket in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Ranket harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (a) your use of the service in violation of these Terms, (b) your content (including content we generate that you choose to publish), or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right. We'll notify you of any claim and cooperate reasonably in the defence.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Ranket's operating entity is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
Before filing a claim, please email us at hello@ranket.app and give us 30 days to resolve it informally.
16. Changes to these Terms
We'll update these Terms when our practices change. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, cancel before the effective date.
17. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: these Terms (plus any order form or addendum we agree in writing) are the entire agreement between you and Ranket.
- Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
- Assignment: you can't transfer your account without our consent. We can assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce any right isn't a waiver of that right.
- Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events outside reasonable control (natural disaster, war, large-scale infrastructure outage).
